    installation art. taking a familiar object/theme/idea/etc and using it to deconstruct the very medium from which it is derived. putting it in public forces it to be in the immediate reality of the people. thus causing it to be in the intellectual forefront.

    Guessing very roughly from the background and subject matter I'd say this was the annual Fallas festival in Valencia. Where popular/surreal effigies ranging from 10cm to 70ft are dotted around the city for a week... and then all set on fire :D

    Art trying to make a statement?

    I know how much the Looney Left hates the thought of letting people 'shoot Bambi', but since we removed their natural predators, they breed like rabbits and basically starve themselves. I think this piece is trying to say it's better to shoot Bambi as opposed to letting... him, I think it was (in the movie) starve to death.
